About us

OUR STORY

Free The Children (FTC) was originally founded by Craig Kielburger in 1995 when he was just 12 years old. Since its founding, FTC has become the world’s leading youth-driven initiative, inspiring an entire generation to stand up and have their voices heard.

FTC projects in countries around the world help alleviate poverty by providing villages access to clean water, education, healthcare, food security, and alternative income sources. The McMaster chapter raises awareness for FTC campaigns and projects, and picks one project a year to raise funds for.

The primary goals of the organization are to free children from poverty and exploitation and free young people from the notion that they are powerless to affect positive change in the world.

The McMaster branch of Free The Children is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Free The Children projects all over the world.
